Arent greenjoys the cheap plastic shoes? Even at 19.99 theyre probably still a good mark up.

Some absolute bargains on Golf Depot are they reputable? They have the mizuno aerolite waterproof bag for 70 quid which looks an absolute steal. Unfortunately doesn't look like AG stock them.

Well Golf Depot certainly has a reputation...

FWIW though, I have used them in the past for balls, gloves and hats and although delivery is snail mail, I have received everything I have bought with no issue.
Some people have had issues though (several historic threads on here).

To OP, I think AG have a clause in the price match that has limits. I have had a Price Match rejected before as the difference was silly money (Mizuno MP650 driver for £69.99 where AG price was £129..)
I didn't question it as thought it a bit cheeky myself but if challenged they may have relented.

I'd be suprised if AG would match that for you, but if they do don't go complaining when people take advantage, they go out of business and leave just the truly awful golf shops (much like the closure of all sports superstores apart from one)

You might struggle with this, one of the reasons AG say they won't price match is...

If the price quoted is from a Clearance site or on goods which are being liquidated by another retailer

The Golf Depot website describes them as...

Golf Depot is an exclusive discount clearance wholesale golf shop located in Chester

So no price match

I've been refused a couple of price matches and actually spoke to someone at AG head office who kindly rang me back and explained that they (AG) match other retail outlets, not eBay or any 'on-line' only stores and also as above, not liquidated, clearance, end of line sales from any company.

This is because there is something called the 'Competitions Act', as an ex-retailer/owner I am aware of this and understand that there has to be a level playing field so a retailer which we all like to visit, get one-to-one advice, touch & feel new products needs to be protected against internet only stores who work to high turnover minimum margins as they drop ship and have far less overheads.

There will be some people (consumers) who don't care about that and price is their only target, but when you start to see more and more pro shops and retail stores disappear, and you can no-longer peruse the latest products because their all on-line only, how relevant was saving that extra £10?

The other problem coming from this type of scenario is that if/when the visitable shops go out of business, there's nowhere to do the 'touchy feely' bit anymore. No more try before you buy.

The people that did the most dripping when Jessops (the high street photography shop) folded were the very same ones that would go in there, get a feel for stuff, and then go home and buy cheaper elsewhere online. You can't have it both ways.

It's called Market Forces! Though there's a bit of inertia and/or latency involved too.

Not a bad time to have got out of retail imo. Online outlets, not necessarily holding stock either, are becoming more popular and smaller retailers don't have the power to compete with the low overheads. I disagree with the 'need for protection' though. If they can't compete on personal service or other USP, then their Business Model is wrong.

There'll always be a place for the convenient, service oriented outlet (does this seem like a Pro Shop?) and most customers are prepared to pay a little more for that.

you can always just buy from Golf Depot and save the hassle of price matches:confused:
If you live pretty close to an AG as I do you have no postage costs.I also have used depot in the past and had no problems and would use them again. As for AG not standing by their price match I would question this as AG claim they operate a price match guarantee.
