Advice travelling abroad to La Cala

I am looking for a bit of advice off anyone who has been to La Cala. I am travelling out in march and have been looking at transfers from the airport to La Cala resort. It looks like transfers will cost around £100.00. My questions is has anyone had any experience with grabbing a taxi at the airport and roughly what the costs were?

I think there was another thread on La Cala not too long ago. It's a bit "out in the sticks" and although the golf is good there's not a lot of other stuff to do locally so if you are relying on taxis you may end up spending quite a lot on them. I've no experience of cost from Malaga airport but it's about 35km so won't be cheap. We've always gone for car hire and can recommend a local firm "Autos Lidos". Very reliable, good rates and never a long queue when you get there.

We hired a car from Sixt, it was about £75 for 4 days.

Personally I think you'll need a car as La Cala resort is miles from anywhere worthwhile.

If you're on a budget, the cheapest way is get a train from Malaga to Fuengirola (about 5 euros) Then get a taxi to La Cala for around 25 euros.
