I generally use white wooden tee pegs as I like the fact that they match the colour of ball I use but I've recently seen brown ones a bit cheaper. Problem with brown ones is that they are harder to spot when they come out of the ground and looking for them slows down play. So not sure what to do.

Thoughts please?

Pink castle tee.....I still cant see them but at least they make me look sexy.

So many options, it's such a personal thing.

I suggest just buying the white ones, the time you gain vs cost is worth it.

I wouldn't recommend repainting them but it's an option.

Actually that is a really good idea. I'll do it when my PP's are teeing off not on the green after putting out otherwise it would hold up play

It is a good idea, it's why I mentioned it. I just can't recommend it due to the investment of time, I would rather pay for convenience if it has sufficient benefit.

I bought 2000 brown wooden tees for about £15 over a year ago.

Still have about 1750 of the blighters. Can't get rid of them fast enough. :)

I did something similar with red castle tees.....I bought 1000 off fleabay. I think they should last me my life time.

But on a more serious note....does this thread mark the start of the delirium of not playing much over the winter? :smirk:

Hopefully not! Everyone seemed to be starting threads asking for advice and I was feeling a bit left out :o

I think we all gave sensible honest opinions without over reacting.

It's a forum, a place to discuss things. Not a place to tell people their opinions are wrong just because they are different.

I know.......that's why I came here first for market leading advice on tee pegs

Save them till it snows !

Buy the white tees, but for gods sake don't just paint them. Think of the environmental damage that would cause. Just nip to B&Q and get some sand paper. In a few weeks you'll have a lovely set of natural wood tees. You'll be the envy of everyone at the Club.

Gordon just tie a bit of string around the tee and stand on the other end of the string, you will save fortunes and always have your favourite lucky white tee.

Now off to dragons den for me

Play the white ones, but keep the broken bits. Once home, you can use a lathe to face off the ends, and then drill and pin them back together for one more use.
For a professional touch, a smidgen of wood glue helps bond them perfectly, and if picky you can touch up the paint for a perfect finish.

And who said golf wasn't green?

This was handed in at one of my local courses (Woolley Park)

And this is a good course & one of the more expensive courses in the area.
