Hi
Iv had a few lesson over the last few months and Iv been happy enough with how they have been going. I have never hit my irons as well clean and as long before and no longer have any fear pulling out a 5 or 4 iron and having to saying a quick prayer before hitting the ball. But that's where the happiness ends I'm afraid my driving has got worse before I would have had a fade slice but 8 times out of 10 I could control it just aim down the right and let it come back in but now it seems to go everywhere left right anywhere but the fairway and this is after 2 dedicated driver lessons. Iv been mulling over it the last few weeks about going back to the same guy for another one or should I go to some other pro and see if they can help. Any advice appreciated thanks.

balance and tempo.... stop trying to muller it, even if you think your arent I bet you are

it does work!

Disclaimer (before anyone chips in) - I am a high handicapper so none of the above is advice just something thats working for me at the moment after a complete driver meltdown

I'm probably the last person to be giving out advice on driving tips etc. but I too had the same issue as you. I did some looking online and come across a good video on YouTube from Mark Crossfield about aggressive slices/fades when driving. In short, it basically said about your club face angle at impact and your grip. Good video and definitely worth a watch. Becoming ALOT more consistent and I can now start ripping the driver without the fear of putting it in the next County. Cant guarantee it will solve your issue but it seems to be working for me.

If the driver isn't working after a couple of lessons I'd be going back to the pro and telling him. Many will give you the once over and a pointer or two to get you back on track. If however, you feel you need another lesson with a different pro, word of mouth is always the best recommendation

Your pro should explain what is causing your slice and should give you drills to practice to stop it.
If you understand what he has told you and you are still slicing, I would guess you aren't doing the drills right.
Did he mention your swing path at all?

My driving has improved markedly over the past few months thanks to lessons. Grip and set up seemed to be critical in my case (and generally) followed by keeping on plane and making sure I have a full follow through. Worked for me...but I'm still a high handicapper!

set up seemed to be critical in my case

Same for me. Basically I needed to pull my right shoulder back a bit to stop me aiming left, I needed to tilt my spine a bit away from the target, and I needed to get my weight a bit more towards my toes. Once I got this right, I started hitting my drives further and much straighter, and I don't think that there's any surprise that I got cut 1.6 shortly afterwards :)

Good luck fella, I'm sure that your teaching pro will spot what the issue(s) are and sort you right out
