Adjusting iron length?

I've seen a set of Titleist AP2 irons with a shaft I've been looking for (project x pxi 6.0)
This is a hard enough shaft to find, not very common


However they are 1 inch longer than standard and I know from previous fittings that I'm standard length in titleist irons and 2 degree flat lie angle.


Would there be any point buying them?
Could they be adjusted to suit or would it not be worth the hassle?


Just wondering as the price is excellent for a set of AP2's

Adjusting iron length is a very easy task, for either you local pro or a simple DIY task. You may need to re grip as well though.

I'd be changing grips on them anyway so that wouldn't be an issue

Would there be much cost involved in this type of job?

Pipe cutter for 3 quid from b and q. They may have extensions that can be pulled rather than need cutting.

You will simply be reversing what ever was done to make them 1" longer!

Just wondering as the price is excellent for a set of AP2's

All the irons in the set are different lengths, what is important is how they feel. If they don't feel too heavy & you can hit them well leave them as they are, you'll get a little more distance from each iron, which is a good thing. The lie angle can be easily adjusted for about £3 a club.

Chances are when you remove the grips you'll find they have extensions pushed into the shaft. Pull them out and re grip. If if you have to cut them then use a small tube cutter.
