Adjustable hybrids

LOVE my 910H but I have seen a couple of really outstanding looking Adams this year....(I wont be buying but if I were in the market I would be trying)

Im going to demo a cobra bio cell and jpx ez at the weekend. Im wanting one around 16 degree and the bio cell is 16-20 degree. Although the jpx isnt adjustable

the bio cell has some smart thing on the sole that keeps the head square at adress when it has been adjusted

Not having a dig but can anyone explain the purpose of an adjustable hybrid. Surely that is the same as having an adjustable 5 iron in the bag. I can, to a certain extent, understand the benefit of adjustability at the top of the bag when you may be looking for distance in certain conditions but I am less convinced when it comes to a club that needs to fill a certain distance gap.

I adjust the loft on mine depending on how Ive been playing. If Im struggling off the tee and need the hybrid to hit on the par 4s etc I have it delofted as low as possible. If however the 3 wood is behaving then I tend to add a bit more loft to it and have it more in the gap as it is intended to be

There's a few reasons you may want to use the adjustability in a hybrid:

1 - As a game improver as you can grow with the club (ie reduce the draw bias)
2 - In windy conditions you can reduce the loft, which is much easier than changing your swing to hit a punch.
3 - If you play lots of courses you can tailor you yardage for certain par 3s if they fall between your current set-up.

To fine tune your gapping I would have thought...

910h, 19° at factory setting A1 for me is a hook machine.

I've se the face with the same loft, but as open as it will go. Get a nice push draw as opposed to a raging hook!

Exactly the same with me. I have mine set 1.5* open and get a lovely draw flight with a solid shot. Its been sent like that since 2010 and is a "go to club" whatever that means.

Real reason now the marketing bumff has been touted. 1 head 1 shaft and multiple settings = lower costs for manufactures and an easier fitting process. Just giving the Cobra amp range as an example.

3 hyrbids available. So only need 3 different head types yet covers 16* right through to 25*. Ignore the draw settings and you have 12 different club set ups from 3 heads, 3 shafts and a wrench. Get it fitted, set it and leave it alone.
