Some good deals around on adidas goretex jackets, anyone had any good or bad experiences with them?

Thinking of picking up a better waterproof jacket and the price of the adidas Goretex stuff is appealing over the likes of GG etc.

Couple of nice OJ jackets aswell, hmmmm.

Have been considering OJ too, found a good deal but not sure about the warm lining, OK for winter but maybe too warm in the spring/ summer?

I bought an Adidas Climaproof Puremotion Gore-Tex jacket at the start of November and it has proved very handy with all the rain we have been having. I must confess though that I have also been wearing my old jacket underneath as the rain has been so heavy. The only down side I have found is that the pockets are not as deep as I like them and I have to do the zips part way up to make sure I don't drop any tees etc out of them.

Just took delivery of one today, didn't test it in proper rain as went to the range. It was however, light and flexible enough not to impede my swing and its gore-tex, so I'm assuming it's going to perform well in the wet stuff. I like the velvety lined pockets as well.

I'm not disappointed!

I think when you can find Galvin Green at 50% off as they are at Scottsdale currently, and then knowing you have a lifetime guarantee, it's worth buying GG for me 👍🏌

not the first time youve posted Scottsdale having 50% off, am I missing something? cant see more than £50 off a £200+ goretex jacket

I got an email which I've unfortunately deleted now but when I went on all Ned trousers were half price, Polo's were half price, didn't look at jackets although a quarter zip that Bendy was looking for had a decent discount, it might have been "upto" 50%!?

Better discounts than I've normally seen or got before though.

I got a Adidas Goretex top a few months ago. Only played in it once in rain, but it performed well and its nice and light.

Fish, is it Scottsdale or Golfbase? I had an email today from Golfbase with the title "Galvin Green on Sale" (nothing in my size though, I've looked).

As far as Adidas v GG goes, I think Goretex themselves insist on very strict quality control don't they? So anything that says it uses their material should do the job and keep you dry.

Yes, I believe Gore enforce levels of quality control to their licensees so that any garment utilising the GoreTex brand/technology can be expected to perform similarly when it comes to the fabric itself and how it's stitched and bonded. Where you do see a difference between manufacturers is in the quality of things like sizing, fit, zippers and fasteners.

I'd have no worries about buying an Adidas GoreTex garment in terms of quality, breathability and waterproofness but I find that Galvin Green fits me much better and I prefer their quality of zippers and fasteners. Attention to those design details is where GG kit makes the difference for me.

Scottsdale had a Apex GG jacket come through on their Twitter feed yesterday for £139

Adidas stuff is very good, the England squads have it and the reports are good.

footjoy also do some cracking jackets as well.

I thought I'd chip in again, I played a round yesterday which included playing through what can only be described as meteorological armageddon for the entire back 9 (horizontal sleet, rain, hail, gale force gusts). The area of my body covered by my new Adidas gore-tex gear was bone dry, even where I carry my bag over my shoulders. VERY impressed.

My scores however, didn't do so well. It's difficult hitting the ball straight when the grip is effectively lubricated with rain, your glove is soaked and anything but a perfect strike means the club just rotates freely! :fore:

Interesting feedback, cheers. You need some MacWets and all your wet grip problems will disappear.
