Adidas had a big launch of the climachill apparel and I have to say the ideas they came up with of including metal balls in the fabric made me wonder what type of mushroom soup the designers had been eating. A shirt is a shirt to many, and the design and colours are the first considerations for me when looking for a new one.

Adidas have come out all guns blazing with breathable fabrics utilising woven titanium threads and aluminium dots in the fabric to cool the body !! To be frank your not going to get a lightweight shirt like this unless you go ultra high tech. It's incredibly light and breathable, on the few hot days we had in the last few weekends I thought it coped admirably, certainly keeping the upper body cool and fresh if the breeze got up a little.

Of course the headline grabber was the metal dots, and I was sceptical as to how they could be anything but be uncomfortable on the skin. Well they are only located in a small area near the neck section, and they work !
They deliver a strange cooling sensation that actually shocked me the first few times I felt the dots on my neck. Imagine when you feel a cool spray on your skin when your body is hot, the shirt delivers that strange cooling tingle on your neck in a similar fashion. It can be quite a shock you when you setup over the ball and the shirt touches the skin as the dots in the fabric remain cool even after hours in the sun, and that tingle does make your mind query what just happened, before you relax again and realise it was the shirt.

Pricing RRP is from £39.99 - £44.99, and to be honest that's comparable to shirts from other major brands. Personally I think they've gone and provided exactly what they intended and produced a very lightweight shirt that gives a great cooling effect in hot temperatures, and I certainly look forward to a long hot summer wearing it !
