Adams cb forged (cb2 or cb3) outlets

I believe even Direct Golf have run out of stock.

They CB3s are 2 years old now and the CB2s even older, so I would expect most retailers to have sold their remaining stock by now.

They do come up on eBay reasonably frequently. That's where I purchased mine from and I've been exceptionally happy with them; probably the best irons I've played, and I've had a good few over the years.

Good luck with your search.

The search is over , the cb3 was too thick on the top line... Managed to get a mint set of used cb2's which I managed to demo- awesome bats!

I have a set of cb2 in my garage. I used them for 6 months, and never got around to selling them. They were ok I guess, but nothing exceptional. I hope you do better with yours!

I'm surprised by that. I seem to recall you were coming from a set of TPs... but even so, I don't consider the CB3s to have a thick top line by any means.

I'd also be intrigued to hear what you think of the Tour 90s shafts after a bit of use; I think they are wonderful.

Adams seem to be pushing a lot of models at the moment but where are they being sold? A quick look in a local AG while I was getting some new spikes didn't reveal any. I am aren't looking per se but the OP raises a good point

The Tp CB's had quite a think top line compared with the mc or mb, reading reviews last night alot of people gave the feedback that the cb3 were alot chunkier than the cb2, thicker top line, wider sole and larger head

You can tell that the CB3 is thicker even from the pictures. In real life I think they look quite thick as well, especially for a forged club

I've not played the CB2, but I believe the CB3 does have a thicker top line and wider sole... but was also touted as more of a GI club than the CB2 from memory.

Here is a top down view of my CB3 6 iron...

I had a set of cb2's and loved them, great clubs. I had the head fly off my 7 iron and 6 iron within 2 weeks of each other so sent them back to DG and swapped them for r11's. Regret swapping but I had lost confidence in them.

Being honest I kinda up with these by mistake. I'd hit the fg62 with Kbs shafts at a recent fitting and if I'm honest I was set on these, but I found a local store in Banstead that specialised in used / clearance clubs and they had a fg62 set with s300 brand new that they were prepared to loan me a club so I could demo against the Kbs. When I arrived to pick up the fg, I noticed the cb2's and took one off the rack for a waggle,

If I'm honest at this point I'd 90% made my mind up, fitted with the Kbs shafts that were suggested in the fitting and that had proved suitable when in the fg62, there were ticking boxes, a narrow sole and thin top line had a look that resembled the mp63 without the muscle cavity and the sexy Nickle black finish is just awesome , I was talking to the guy about them and he said as I was demo'ing one, I may as well demo both as I had noting to lose.

When I got then the range I warmed up with my 6i while keeping eye on the tracer bay stats, within about 15 / 20 balls I had my 6i up around 185/190 so I knew I'd brought a half decent swing, I think ball speeds were just over 100 if I remember right, anyway, onto the fg/Kbs, while I was knocking most out the middle the flight was weird and I wasn't really gaining anything, off centre hits were dropping to high 160's low 170's and flushed ones were around 190/193, onto the s300 and it was a mimic, 160/170 on bad shots, 185/190 on good ones.

I picked up the cb2, one pre shot routine swing , a quick waggle and an easy swing see me stiff it 185 straight with a nice low starting flight which is what I've been after, within 10 balls i had put both the fg's away and was just back to back testing against my own clubs, if I really got one out the screws with my own I could just about top 195, with the cb2 I has about another 3/4 mph of ball speed and got a couple out to 203/204/205 so I know these are without doubt longer, I could hit draws, fades, low piercers , high floaters... It was just awesome,

There was a pin located at 175 and for the last half hour me and two buddies hit target practice to this green, 3/4 6i and manipulating a shots was great fun and from 10 balls I was dropping 8/10 on a green that was at most 15 yards wide, with the closest being 3ft, I couldn't even hit the proxy thing with the TM cbs

I know I paid a little more than what theses were probably worth but a quick search proved that there was no cb2 iron sets out there in stiff at all (with the exception of a set that is in Murphy garage) and only 3 sets of regular. I check the specks online and with the exception of the pw being 2* stronger every loft was the same as my TM cbs so it was clearly just a good balance between shaft and head. I did manage to track down a set of cb3 but after doing a bit of homework at around 2am this morning I found out that the cb3 were a thicker top line and wider sole so I opted for the cb2's as I was trying to get away from this with the cbs, on the plus side the guy in the shop cut me a deal that was half way between what I wanted to pay and what they were advertised for, and then took my amp hybrids inarticulate ex so all it it wasn't a expensive purchase..

Can't wait to pay Saturday,

Impressive hitting with a 6 Iron - 200 yards !

Hope that makes it way onto the course on sat - nothing better than feeling confident with your clubs

I'm not 100% on the distances if I'm honest Phil! the range in question uses heavily softened balls which I think are around 60/70%' your distances are traces via a track man style system, then they must apply some sort of formula to get to what they believe is a true distance.

I know with the original cb's, the carry distances were 135 if I selected real carry distance, but there is a option to convert to what should be real distances should you be hitting a real ball so to speak.... And it converted across to high 190's, low 200's on real flushed ones. If I'm honest I can't ever see me hitting a 6i this far, if it's 180 I won't be unhappy.

My sole quest for the club search was for a lower more powerful flight that wouldn't get bullied in the wind, with a tighter dispersion, any distance gains are a bonus ..

At the end of the day mate it's all about putting the ball where you want it to go and feeling confident over the ball - if the irons do that then you are halfway there
