My playing partners and I are planning an overnight Sat/Sun trip to North Berwick in March.

I am looking for accommodation recommendations for North Berwick.

I have previously stayed at The Lodge at Craigielaw (which is recommended) but this time we are looking for something 'staggering' distance from the pubs.

B&B's preferably to save on the budget....

Not much is cheap in North Berwick. I think all the B&B's are in pretty stiff competition with each other so you'll get what you pay for. The only one I have direct (good) experience of is the Golf Lodge http://www.golflodgebb.co.uk/default.php.

Let me know nearer the time of you want some restaurant tips too.

cheers
Ian

Thanks Iain,

Your not wrong re: B&B rates. I may see if the boys are up for a Sun/Mon trip and get a deal in the Marine Hotel.

Fingers crossed there is a deal to be done somewhere in March

We got a good deal in the Open Arms just down the road in Dirleton a few years ago. Nice rooms, excellent grub, decent pub couple of hundred yards up the road

Not been for a few years but enjoyed staying at The Mallard Inn at Gullane.
Right on the green overlooking Gullane No 3.

My pleasure. I am sure you will like it. Breakfast there is fantastic and i believe that dinner is good also.

Where are you planning on playing?

Still TBC but we are looking at Gullane #2 on day 1 on West Links NB on day 2. It was supposed to be a Sunday afternoon season opener through in North Berwick, for our 4-ball, but has seemed to have grown arms and legs and is now an 'away' weekend. Great place to have it though. Was lucky enough to play Archerfield, The Glen and 3 x Gullanes over the past year. North Berwick deff has me hooked

Sounds like a nice itinerary. Have you played Dunbar? Wonderful course right on the sea, challenging without being too hard. A real gem in my opinion.

I enjoyed Gullane no2, though we always play no1 in out matches. if just going for a game, will play no 2 next time i visit edinburgh.
