After the birth of my son (my first child) a couple of weeks ago, last Thursday I was banished to the golf course to play 9 holes as HID had some friends coming round.

Now I am a man how would pick his clubs up every day to either hit plastic balls with my driver in the garden, pitch balls 20yrds into a bucket, putt in the lounge, go and have 3 or 9holes etc etc. But after the arrival of the little one for three weeks I had not picked my clubs AT ALL!!

My point is this, I can not beleive how much more I enjoyed my round of golf, there was nobody behind me so I could hit 2 or 3 balls on each hole and my technique was soooooooo much better and the strikes were brilliant. I the one hole (175yrd Par3) with my three balls I hit one draw, one fade and one straight on purpose.

It probably will be another 3 weeks before I can get out again, but my wife put a very wise analogy on it, she said "its like not being able to have chocolate every day, then having a bar of diary milk after 3weeks, you savour it more", why do women use chocolate as a yardstick?
