Up for a week with work, and have been loaned a set of clubs for a game tomorrow. Apart from Royal Aberdeen, what other courses are worth a visit?

Travel 25mins north play Cruden Bay well worth it.

Got to play Cruden bay, trumps place is steep but fantastic, in town, Peterculter and Murcar are good.

Newmacher Hawkstone is a very good inland course, but it seems a waste to not experience the links courses - Murcar and Cruden Bay being delightful, and normally reasonably priced, examples!

A couple that haven't been mentioned are Fraserburgh further to the north, I'm hoping to play it next year on the forum Trump trip and if you want cheap n cheerful there is Kings Links right outside Pittodrie stadium. Home to a certain Paul Lawrie.

Now I have stopped playing there are a couple of courses I have regretted not playing.


One is Cruden Bay.

You lucky boy. Place is littered with great courses. I'm lucky enough to go up and play loads because of family.

Cruden Bay is the one to play!

Cruden Bay for the fun.

Murcar for the welcome and the test.

Fraserburgh for the VFM.

Royal Aberdeen for the front nine.

Stonehaven for the quirkiness.
