Doubles comp last Sunday. I played with someone I'd not played with before, last minute pairing as both our originals partners had scratched. Stableford, both scores to count, me off 15 him off 6. Brilliant morning with all concerned. We were playing for a new trophy donated by our current Captain in memory of his best mate at the club who sadly died in January this year. I played out of my skin and him? Well off such a low H/c when he was in trouble he could clout it a country mile back into a position where he could recover. Awesome stuff to watch. We came in with....78 points. And this was off the whites that were set at their furthest point back! It was quite emotional to receive the trophy from the mans dad who was very red eyed at the end. Loads of photos with the mans grandson and the trophy afterwards.
