A week of winter golf coming up

Start off at Swanston tomorrow, then none on Sunday thanks to the better half arranging "lunch" that apparantly takes up the whole day! Then Kingsfield on Monday, break on Tuesday but then into Wednesday i have Gullane #2, then West Linton on Thursday followed by Falkirk on Friday. Then down to Gosforth on saturday for a knock round there to finish off what is going to be a brilliant week no matter the weather!

If it rains, is windy, or cold, i'll be out there enjoying it

But it's winter and you shouldn't be playing anymore. You live in the Northern Wastes. What will you wear to keep warm? Do you have Under Armour poser designer wear? If not surely you'll freeze?

Lucky you. I'm off next week and still trying to negotiate a couple of days golfing.

Slugger would give Gosforth a miss it will be like a bog, played it a few years ago in September and it was wet, its the worst welcome we've ever had on our travels they weren't interested and basically didn't want us there. The icicng on the cake was when we were told we couldn't get anything to eat but those playing in a club match were stuffing there faces in the lounge next door . IMO wouldn't touch it with a barge pole, we also played Stocksfield tricky course and one of the best looking afters we've had.

Echo that Steve it is a bog at this point in the year...drive the 50 mins back north and play at Goswick,na mud and clart there just quality links turf and great greens even now.

Totally agree Alan, well worth drive to play it ,looking forward to coming back next year hopefully for the open.

Well, that's me finished my week off work and although i never got to play as much as first intended, i still feel lucky to have played the golf i did!

The wee one was ill last week so i had to take it when i could, but still managed 3 rounds, 2 of which were my best scores to date...

Saturday at Swanston and i scored 86, then Gullane #2 on Wednesday and scored 89 - was going well then threw away a couple of holes on the back nine - then played Falkirk Carmuirs on Friday and scored 84 which is to date my best score. Never had a 6 on my card until the 16th! Everything just clicked, especially the putting.

The golf is improving all the time... i'm just gutted the season is over, but i am looking forward to the next one
