Afternoon all

I've got an opportunity that I think will interest (and be relevant) to more than a few folk on here!

I'm looking for 8 golfers who to take part in a season long project to see how they can improve their performance with some non-technical coaching and techniques. I'm staying away from the terms 'mental game' or 'sports psychology' but what you'd learn focuses on your mind rather than your swing

We are working with John O'Keeffe who an expert in high personal performance, ex CEO P&G UK; ex British Olympic Hockey Squad and a single-figure golfer himself

Together with top tour coach Denis Pugh he has written a fully illustrated e-book NEW GOLF THINKING that gives you 7 completely new techniques to save the wasted shots your head causes.

It's not sports psychology. For the everyday problems most golfers face, you don't need a brain surgeon, you need headache pills. Here are 7 that work. e.g. how to" BOUNCE-BACK" or " RISE -TO-OCCASION".

NEW GOLF THINKING will work for any handicap and unlike technical changes, which take time, will give you benefit on the very next round. Moreover, even doing a little bit of them will help your score.

If selected you'll attend a day at The Grove in Hertfordshire on Tuesday April 29th where you'll have a morning session working with John before going out to play 18 holes on the fabulous Grove layout

We then want you to update us on how your season progresses (by writing a monthly blog) and we'll get the 8 golfers together at the end of the season to see what impact NEW GOLF THINKING has had.

If you want to be considered please email me michael_harris@ipcmedia.com with the following info

What are the 2 or 3 non-technical problems that cause you to not score as well as you want?
What frustrates you about how you play?

Closing date is March 1st. Those selected will be informed by April 3

This sounds really interesting! have thrown my hat in the ring, happy to be discounted straight away on past form for Opportunities, but worth a shot!

Anything that can help me keep my head in the right place during a round has got be worth a go (and I don't mean on top of my shoulders, before anyone mentions it!) Email on its way.

This will work wonders for people i reckon. Im a strong believer in thinking a good game leads to playing one etc.

Looking forward to seeing how this unfolds.

Good luck to those who get selected

Sounds great and a skill that could be carried over to different parts of life. Unfortunately I am in a bit of a limbo with jobs and whether we will move or not so my golf season will be either non existent or normal.

Very interesting opportunity indeed but not a good date for me unfortunately.

Worryingly, the idea of writing a blog about my golfing exploits is quite appealing.......
