Past few rounds have been in some pretty humid conditions. While the ball travels miles in these conditions - both in the air and on the ground. I must admit, it is not that easy on the body. Having gone of energy drinks (as they contain a fair bit of sugar, which I am trying to cut down on), water was on my mind. Recently switched to Homer Special Brew aka Coconut water (also partly because they were on sale at Costco).

What a revelation... At the end of the round, I am still up and running. It keeps me hydrated and there are no sugary spikes. Also being borderline diabetic, it has not contributed to any trends in diabetics or weight gains.

So, though I hate to admit it, Homer must be onto something here. (also I hear Madonna drinks coconut water most of the time)..

Before the angry mob lynch you for posting such things about me and the naysayers descend let me say unto you all - I TOLD YOU SO :ears:

It has been known as a natural electrolyte replenisher for years! And especially so for Diabetics too.

Can't stand the taste of it myself, which is peculiar because I love Coconut in many other forms - especially (Thai/Malay) Curries (not so good for Diabetics!)!

Funny enough I can't stand Thai curries! It is pretty good stuff though and you can get it in different flavours so it doesn't taste as harshly and purely of coconut. It did work a treat in the recent humidity though

Thought you mentioned that you have been struggling recently in the humidity ? Unless it was someone else ???

Homer... I must say... I went through 1 Litre of coconut water during the game.

You can get a box of 6x1L pack at Costco for some £9 quid or so..

It was me. I hadn't had coconut water for a while and not in the high humidity we'd been experiencing hence my original post. I did find it not only quenched the thirst but I did feel better for longer in the round

Ok confused because original post said you had a carton of coconut water and you were suffering in the humidity and flagging after 12 holes ?!

Or is it slow release like bananas ? Maybe having it earlier ?
