Hi All.

After 3 consecutive rounds of not getting comftable with my grip and putting stroke, (shot +2 73 today, but had three 3 putts and missed 2 other short birdie attempts from 6ft) i went straight into the shop to see the pro and see what putters were in stock.

All the usual suspects were there: Ping, Scotty, Nike etc... but i noticed in the corner some Tiger Shark GW putters with odd grips on. They had rodded off the SuperStroke Grips and place normal Midsize Tour Velvet's on them.

In all the years of playing golf, i have never seen a normal grip on any putter. (have any of you??)so, i took it out on the putter green and instantly i felt that my hands were working together, using my standard interlocking grip. My grip is pretty neutral and soft, but i always have held putters too hard. I decided to take a punt, pick one up and try something a bit different.

What are your views on this?? anyone else tried this??

Cheers

Richard

How long have you played golf? Pretty much all putter grips used to be round

first stated playing when i was 13 in 1996 and all putters i've seen have all been "flat" so to speak. sure, i have seen footage of back in the day, where this was commonplace, but i do not know/ seen anyone trying it.

Having seen my putting back in video, i am standing too far away , which may explain numerous things, but still going to give it a pop and see what happens.
