my mum showed me this article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencet...rers-distinguish-red-green.html#axzz2KM1dK45F

seem a solution my have been accidentally found, this is quite exciting news for myself as i am colour blind red/green while in the military i missed the chance of becoming a pilot due to this which was a major disapointment and this hindered me getting other jobs i really wanted to do, so my fingers are crossed something will become available to the public

anyone else in the same boat?

Me too on the colourblindness. The circle dots test is called the Ishihara test. Loved to have become an air traffic controller but failed at first hurdle!

Add me to the list. Not sure I'd bother with the glasses, whilst they sort out reds & greens, they mess up yellows & blues in the process, so I'm not really gaining anything, just trading one deficiency for another. I quite fancied the idea of being a pilot in my younger years, however once I realised how small cockpits are, the colour blindness issue paled into insignificance.

Ha ha I wanted to be a pilot to , let's all choose to be the one thing we can't so we know we can't fail , we just weren't allowed to try

JPH, I don't believe you know me or anything about me, so what exactly qualifies you to make such a comment?

I think he was just having a laugh, don't think he was implying he knows you mate

as for the tests i still remember being in P6 the nurse was testing all the guys for different things and they were all looking at this book and saying numbers, as it wasn't explained to me what was going on i was well confused, "just read the numbers dear dont play silly beggers" and then after they realized i couldn't see them "better tell the parents" man i thought i was in the Proverbial then

What do/did you do in the military? I'm in the navy but suffer from red green colour blindness. They wouldn't let me do what I wanted to do which was aircraft handling so joined up as an engineer doesn't make much sense to me not being able to move jump jets and helicopters but I'm allowed to mess about with different electrical systems

Another colourblinder here!!

I play snooker quite a lot, i cant tell the difference between the brown and reds.

Turns into a nightmare when the brown comes off the spot, i have to keep tabs on it all game haha!

Unless my opponent is kind enough to point it out for me every now and again!

im with you on that one! where i pay there is a set of snooker balls that has a slightly faded brown ball to help the colour blind players, otherwise my friend when im racking up rolls the brown to me to see if i notice lol
