Came across this photo elsewhere on't t'Internet and must say that for me it's really goose-bumpy image.

Almost like being an observer on the sidelines when a global iconic moment was about to be created.

I wasn't born until 1982 so obviously I didn't witness the whole Beatle Mania.
I prefer The Who & LedZep over the Beatles.
Just my opinion.

Of course you will have your preferences in music but to suggest the Beatles were over rated is wrong.

IMO of course ;)

The Beatles deserve their rating, simply because of the longevity of the public's awareness of them.
Whether you like their music or not can be dependant upon personal taste and how music has changed over the last 50 odd years.
What is fact is that there was Beatlemania and it is acknowledged that they were massively influential in the music industry.

I was never their biggest fan, being more of a ' Stones follower but Beatles music was the soundtrack to my youth and brings back many powerful memories.

I just think their music is over rated.
Some of their stuff was decent, but that's about it.
Like I said,it's just my opinion & obviously millions of people disagree with me.

The first picture actually answers one of the biggest questions about the second picture.

He was barefoot cos he couldn't walk properly in those sandals.

There ye go, the whole 'Pauls actually deid, cos he's barefoot and the rest are the funeral party' theory carry on has just been disproved by me, on a golf forum!

Do I get a special mention in Beatles folklore now? :)

Born in 66 but never really got into the Beatles. My parents weren't fans (Dad was a big Sinatra fan) and like you preferred my music rockier. That said, the Beatles did write some good stuff and you can't deny their place in the pantheon of musical legends but I'm still not a fan

Add The Rolling Stones to that list for me.

I'd rate Lennon & McCartney as songwriters far above their achievements as a band.

I lived though it start to finish. They were awesome, they were the best songwriters of thir generation and their music moved with the, fast evolving, times. If you weren't there you'll never know just how they were the band that everyone else aspired to be.

I wasn't the Stones greatest fan but there were shed loads of great bands and the music will last forever from the 60's and 70's whereas the music of recent years, rap, punk etc will not
