I am trying to buy a golf related birthday present for my brother at the moment and I am getting fed up with manufacturers not showing their prices on online sites. It started with TM but now every site I go to makes me 'Click for Price' rather than being able to compare a screen full of clubs and prices. It makes what should be a simple process longer, more frustrating and, if I am honest, less likely to make me part with my cash. I really cannot see the need for this. It is nothing to do with custom fitting or any of the usual excuses but appears to be a tedious and frustrating attempt for me to look at a product in more detail.

Anyway, rant over.

By the way, has anyone used Lefthandedgolf for purchases. My brother is left handed (obviously or I would not be on a left handed golf site) and they have some great deals on Yes putters (under £50, bargain).

Lefthandedgolf have a branch at Shay Grange golf centre, just outside of Bradford and the store itself is very reputable, with a good range of stock. A whole section of the store is dedicated to left hand clubs.

As a lefty I have used lefthandedgolfer a few times and would thoroughly recommend them. They are not always the cheapest but they occasionally do some great bargains, usually on putters as you seem to have found. They give great customer service and give discounts if you are buying more than one product.

poor old TM, how is it they get the blame for absolutly everything on here??? :)

the issue is a restriction on advertising prices below RRP, and an online price is an advert. it certainly didn't start with TM but originally with imported electronics/cameras. Somewhere there's a memory suggesting it was Sony who kicked it off, but I apologise to them if it was someone else!

as a lefthander I have made a number of purchases from lefthandedgolf - all without incident.

I agree, it's a pain when they put the 'click for price' thing on sites. I'm not sure why it only seems to apply to some brands but I would say it makes me less likely to buy said brand if they are making me click for the price - it just feels like a scam.
