A little bit of advice.....

How different are they? What happens?

They feel much stiffer than the regular shafts in my old i15's. They almost feel "dead" in my hands.
Coming up way short of what I did with my old Cobra S3's.
Whilst I appreciated that they wouldn't be quite as long due to their different lofts, I didn't expect such a difference.
But it's the "dead" feel that I don't like.

You sure it is not just the cold heavy air that is losing you distance. I was hitting two clubs more at Cuddington yesterday than I normally would. You haven't played winter golf for a while.:)

How come you at least didn't try them before buying? I don't necessarily think you have to get fitted (I didn't get fitted for my coverts), but buying without at least trying seems a little silly.

Welcome to my world....;)

The fact that I purchased my i15's straight off the shelf, regular steel, black dot etc. etc. etc. and played well with them led me to "assume" that it would be the same with the i25's.
Sadly it's not.

I don't think it's the weather conditions lads. Par 3 at Cooden yesterday, (16th hole) I usually hit a 7 iron, sometimes a 6 if the winds in your boat.
Yesterday was flat calm, nice and mild (was getting hot in my jumper) and I hit a 5 iron best that I could. Came up about 10 yards short of the green.
I know I am a pussy, but that is ridiculous. A 5 iron off that tee????
It's 152 yards downhill!!
:o

Did you try your i15's out before you bought them?

Nope.
Just saw them in the pro shop, thought "I could bash those" and bought them there and then.
The pro said "try them out for a few weeks, come back and see me and if they need any adjustment I'll send them off to Ping for you".
Didn't go back as I was hitting them so well.

How dare you suggest that one of our oldest and most revered forummers could be "a little silly".

When you've been on the forum longer than 3 months, you will come to realise that Smiffy can be "very silly".
