I'm not one to defend the yuth of today Tsh, but how old were you when you retired? I'd imagine most youngsters now will be at it a good while longer..............

Was hoping to finish at 50 but had to drag it out to 52

36 years man and boy mining. Thing is though papas, after his gap year another 2-3 yr at youni, start work at 25. Ad been paying into a pension for nine years then.
If I had known then what I know now, I would of paid pension on me paper round plus AVCs. 😁👍

So they start at 25, I'be surprised if many retire at 61. I'm not for a second saying life was easy for you, or that it will be for them.

Just times have changed. All staff are enrolled in government schemes for pensions now and i'd imagine most students will be working part time to fund their lifestyles.
I think as with a lot of threads and social forums, there's quite a big divide between people in their 20's (work shy, not it alls) and 60 (racist and miserable).

****The above ( ) are just regular accusations made by one against the other that i see.

I'm struggling to see what you are ranting at and why you have decided they are lazy because they are doing a gap year ?

You do know that most in their gap year go travelling whilst working all over the world to experience different cultures and how the world works ?

I have no idea how you can make any comparisons when life has changed
