So just had my first lesson tackling putting with the new Pro who is trying to improve my game.
Putting is definitely NOT my strong point I told him

So he watches me do a series of putts, then says "there are quite a few things that you are doing wrong. That's great"

"It's great?" I query...

"yes- if you told me you were rubbish at putting but it looked like you were doing everything right, that would be much harder to fix"

My new putting stroke only has one thing in common with my old one.
It involves hitting a ball...
 
How a good pro should be. He's got you energised about improving without you thinking it's going to be a long, soul destroying process. Stick with the changes, put some work in on the practice green and I reckon you'll see results very quickly
