just home from playing my weekly club round. another 0.1 will be added but i feel i am heading in the right direction. My last 3 handicap rounds have been 92, 92 and tonight a 91. There has been a story to each of the rounds as there normally is with my golf. I cant seem to keep a 7 or 8 off the card. Went out in 53 (with two 8's at par 4's) and came back in 38 (with a 5 at the par 3 10th).
:D got to laugh

What are you currently playing off. I've been advising newbies and those of relatively high handicaps to imagine every hole is a par 5 (18 x 5 = 90) and that way t is easier to try manage and not go for glory shots when you stray off line. That 5 on the 10th would just have been a par and no damaged done

I am playing off 19 now, i do use the every hole is a par idea it even gave me my login name. The technique works fine and i go round collecting my 5's the odd 6 and a handful of pars but it is the 7 and 8's that really kill me.
