The other day i shot a on the back 39, to day played the front 9 for a quick game and scored 37 on the same course of a par 72?!

Which is amazing for me i used to average 78-80 per round and there seems to be old signs of form,

However i stuggle to string together back and front 9 of this standard in a compelete round?!

My best ever around on this course was 77 a about a year or so ago.. so technically can i take the 76 even though it was the same course on two different occasions lol ;)

Lol its just nice to be hitting the little bugger nice again and making some up and downs!

I can do that regularly especially in competitions. I can go out great, realise I'm having a good day and ruin it on the back nine. I can also play like an idiot and use most of my shots up going out and come back in superb style. I know there is a full 18 in there somewhere where it all hangs together but buggered if I can find it

I read somewhere the suggestion of instead of looking at the game as two halves, just chop it into thirds. ie, play the front 6, the middle 6 and the back 6. Helps to take the pressure off 2 9 holes.

Played today and as it happens I played the same way as above. Usually play the front 9 better than the back 9. Today had a ropey front 9 but still scored (S/ford comp). Played like a good 'un on the back 9 with some good scoring holes. Just goes to show, it's often a game of 2 halves.

Wasn't a game of thirds or two halves. All of it was rubbish. Played today and NR'd. Hit a ball down our 17th just right of the greenside bunker. Couldn't find it. It wasn't in any danger off the tee and we all saw it land short of the bunker and bounce forward. Absolute mystery. Mind you I was so far over my handicap it wasn't funny so I wasn't heartbroken. More annoyed at losing a decent ball on a decent shot. Not even any rabbit holes or anything.
