A dilemma

Come clean lol, we all have bad days

Thankfully ours was stableford at the weekend, pretty sure I wouldnt have broken 90 if it had been a medal either!

Your card is already in presumably or it's too late now, so officially it's an NR and point 1 anyway.

Entirely up to you if your too embarrassed to say but we've all been there!

So you are a cat 1 golfer and shoot 93 in a comp at the weekend, do you come clean or keep it to yourself?

Touching a bit of a bugbear for me here Patrick , its a comp so you should have no choice but to return your card for all to see .. some are still at it in our club , club to (something) to do anything about it ..

I don't read this as being about whether or not the card is handed in, more to do with telling people what you scored?

But I wouldn't worry about it, we all have bad days. I play off 6 and it took me until the 13th to get my first par of the round yesterday!

A good friend of mine was a quality 'club pro'. He won quite a few county and region titles and had a couple of successful years on the seniors tour. Probably about +3/4 at amateur level.

When qualifing for the St Georges Open at Princes he shot a 92..........took the ribbing well when he came back.

Nicklaus 82
Woods 83
Both in Opens.

It gives us high handicappers a wee boost when a Cat 1 strays into our territory. So I say come clean and enjoy the fact you've cheered up at least 2/3 of the field. :)

They had a glos and Somerset PGA medal at my club a couple of weeks back, glorious day, hardly any wind. There were Pros returning scores in the mid to high 80's, par 70 sss70, if they can do that then...

Smacks of protecting your handicap. Which really is cheating, ok it's you that suffer. But it's still wrong. Get the card in.

What do you mean? He gets 0.1 back if he enters the comp and fails to return a card - and I can't see a Cat 1 wanting 0.1 back.

What a great question....

I'd hand it in, partly because my dad, when i was kid, said If i ever N/R, he would take my clubs of me for a month.....Im 31, married with a 5yr son and im Still scared hed do The same now :D

Name and shame but i know plenty who would Not.

Name and shame. I've had some real horror shows and come bottom in my division. So what. Its only banter for a day and then everyone moves on. It just makes me more determined not to repeat the feat next time out

Well Ive given them a chance to come clean, but alas;) lets face it they must be on here all day and all night:D

Time for some clues!

He's been on here a short while, but racked up a homer esque amount of posts:)

Talks a good game:) and dishes out advice to all and sundry... need i say more
