I popped to the range this afternoon ahead of my trip to Princes tomorrow. I hit in the bay next to a young man who quickly struck up a conversation and, after a short while, commented on my X2 Hot no 3 fairway wood, which is one of the best clubs in the bag and he said that he had a no 4 club in his car that he barely used and was looking to get rid.

10 hits later with a distance of approx 200 yards and a nice high flight, it was in my bag for the princely sum of £25 - result!

Just now trying to decide which club goes?

Do you mean rescue club as opposed to a 4wood ?

Take out your putter

So, the prize under the category of "I just knew he'd be the first to post "THE PUTTER"" goes to Phil!

He struck up the conversation Smiffy, and yes, I was having a slash - I couldn't get it to the 50 yard target though - it runs slower as you get older!

Tony - you'll pay for that crack at Blackmoor!

25 yards I reckon Alex

Drop your 60 wedge ( and open the face of your 56)

I went from 3 wedges to 2 to allow for a 2nd hybrid

Didn't regret it on bit

That's an idea thanks, I played Princes Golf Club today and left out the mini driver as it was going to be a driver course all day long, then I never got to use the new club.

We had a team comp today, 2,3 and 4 to score according to stroke index. I took the new club instead of my mini driver and - WOW - that club looks like staying in the bag with its big brother!

Straight and true of every type of lie !

Best £25 I've spent on a club!

The price just makes it so much better.
Bet you couldn't believe it when he said £25.
