Playing in the Seniors Open at Orsett GC in Essex today. First time I've ever played the course and by all accounts it's a bit of a toughie.

£35.00 entry fee includes coffee/bacon rolls on arrival and a three course lunch (liquidised of course).
Highlight for me will be in the showers afterwards....with all that loose, hanging meat on display, I expect I'll look like Arnie by comparison.
Just off to have a shower and brush my tooth.
Weather conditions look a little "testing" with a strong breeze blowing already.
Three tee start, I'm off the 7th (par 5) at 9.26. The Dartford tunnel beckons.
Fingers crossed.

I am eligible for our seniors events and on a good day when I only have half a mug of tea the evening before - I have lasted 8 mins between tree watering !

116 players, Smiffy came 36th.
29 points, each one hard to come by on a course that was playing really tough.
Strong winds, and rain on the closing 5 holes, a really tight course. In superb condition though, greens were a pleasure to putt on.
£35.00 was an absolute bargain.
Took me teef out and tucked into Roast Beef, Turkey, Yorkshire Pud, Roasties and cabbage followed by Fruit crumble and custard.
Played with 3 really nice guys, not one Ping player amongst them.
Smashing day.
