what if people on this and other forums paid say £50 to become associate members to this club could it be saved.

if i was a council tax payer in the Leicester/Oadby area, i reckon i would want this course off the councils books asap. only 168 members, £133K turnover and a £100K loss - doesn't look very good does it? i believe there are plenty of other courses around the Leicester area so perhaps it would be better for the members to be spread over those to give them a better chance of survival. with regard to the fact that now 22,000 have now heard of the problem - doesn't mean anything unless one of them has very deep pockets and many others are willing to join. i know about it, but, as i live 50 miles away, it doesn't interest me.

just to update on this closure - read in the Leicester Mercury (the local paper) earlier this week that the club had lost over £500K in the past 6 years or so. no wonder the local council want to shut it down - perhaps they should have done so some time ago!!

I had heard a rumour that Blackwell Grange were considering selling up the land they own and buying Stressholme from the Council. Hope they do coz its a better course.
