27 hole comp

Our handicap Champs is 18 holes AM, with best 18 scores and ties playing a further 9 holes in te afternoon. How would that work out for the net score? If you shoot 80 in the morning then thats 80-10 gives you a net 70. How would the next 9 work? Just take of handicap again? half a handicap?

Re: 27 hole comp

Don't quote me on this coz I only half understood this myself. But as MIB says half of 18 is the same down here as oop north it's 9. but half of 17 is 8.5 so what do you play off/shots get. But what if your hcap is 16.9 or 16.8. In essence the answer is on the hcap sheet that is on the club desk at our place when we have these comps.

That is the easy bit.

Our back nine has been assessed and passed for nine hole comps. So hypothetically if you play off 17/8.5 it could be rounded up to 9 shots for a nine hole comp on the front nine. But if you get nine on the front and had a back nine comp in the afternoon. So you again get another nine shots for the back nine which gives you 18 shots, but you play off 17. But it doesn't work like that. See I said it was easy.

In in essence when the course is again assessed for back nine comps hcaps are took into consideration. We have screwed up the scoring on our cards several times and adjusted and signed them when scores were entered into the computer. Quite frankly it did our heads in. Glad to help

PS, as has been said, they are quite popular.
