One of the few days I can remember where and what I was doing when that awful events of that day unfolded.

watched a programme last night about the Twin towers firefighters. Very moving

I was watching it all unfold at work while preparing to fly to Aberdeen the next day. To say airport security was tight the next day would be an understatement.

May the victims rest in peace.

Yes, I remember that terrible day very clearly. I was working in Edinburgh and stayed overnight during the week in a B&B.

I have that program recorded on sky+ to watch over the weekend.

I vividly remember getting home from school and walking into the lounge and seeing Sky News on just as the 2nd plane flew into the tower. Was absolutely insane, and something I will never forget. Such a sad day.

This is the coverage I remember watching. Crazy.

Lockerbie, Dunblane and Hungerford also spring to mind. I still put a candle in the window on the evening of March 13th...

Having visited NY a number of times in recent years it's difficult to comprehend how these horrible these events were until you see the footprint the towers were on and how compact the area is. It must have been hell when those towers were hit with the fallen debris and god love them the jumpers from the towers, then you have the towers coming down onto that small area.

Events that changed the world, whether for good or bad is a debate for another thread.

Was in a bar in Limassol after finishing work - was a bit dumbstruck about it all

Very next I was on 72 hour notice to move

Was in work , musta been around lunch time our time it happened , was it ? ..

i remember a bunch of us watching the tv in the pub across the road , no one asked for or bought drink , just stood there in silence watching the television , place was packed , bar did no business

I do believe I have watched every You-tube video made.

I was changing shifts and the people that came in just said watch the news when you get home,my mouth was wide open and it was pure silence.

Some fascinating stories from the survivors and relatives of the not so fortunate.

My mum went last year and said it was amazing

It's one of the most somber places i have ever been to. I was there 2 weeks after the tenth anniversary and the opening of the reflection pools. I watched a you guy around 13 or 14 take a rub onto paper of one of the names on the plinths around the pool whilst some family members watched in tears. Heartbreaking.

Was at work. Just an unbelievable afternoon and evening.

Bought a copy of Last Man Down by Rich Picciotto, one of the firemen who went into the towers. An incredible account.

Watched it all unfold live on Sky news as I was packing to fly to Cuba a couple of days later..

I still remember struggling to keep my cool at the Airport as self important *$£*&* were arguing about having hand luggage that was too big and not being able to carry shampoo onto the flight.. It's not as if they kept the new regulations quiet..

First I knew was the storeman where I used to work came across saying a plane had flown into one of the towers, he was pretty concerned as his daughter lived and worked in Manhattan at the time and stories of exactly what had happened were sketchy first off.
We finished early on a Friday so I watched it all unfold at home on the tv, I was on the phone to the ex missus telling her what was going on as she was at work. I remember saying something like,"one of the towers has fallen down".
My daughter was born 16 days later, a happy day but still with memories of what happened clear in my mind.

Was on my way back from a week-end at Celtic Manor and had called in to play Castle Combe on the way home.
Came off the course, jumped into the car and as we were driving out, Ray Taylor, who was in the car in front, jumped out and told me to put the radio on.
Couldn't believe what we were hearing.

Those so-called "Truthers" who think it was a Government conspiracy make me sick to the stomach. The documentary where all their ideas are refuted is worth watching but those kinds of people are just on another planet, probably the one Elvis is still alive on.

Was driving from Brighton to Crawley after a job interview.

Even now watching that YouTube video is spellbinding.

Playing golf art Mid Kent; invited to fill a gap left when someone was called in to work at short notice. That someone worked as cabin crew on an airline.

The news pictures were uncomfortable viewing under any circumstances, but particularly so given that we were watching without sound not knowing whether our friend was involved. Fortunately for him and us he wasn't.

I remember being in work also (thought it was about 1-2) and someone come in and said have you heard the news.

Watched it on the internet, as I think the second plane flew into it. At that moment I felt that the world had changed forever.

Being on top of the two towers only 7 months before with 3 best friends, made it feel even more strange.

I was playing Lamberhurst Golf Club playing, came in and wast totally stunned when I realised it wasn't a movie on the TV

I saw the memorial there earlier this year and it was so moving!
