I was invited by a friend to play with him in a Silloth at his home course. We were teeing off second at the unholy hour of 7.08am on a Sunday morning. Obviously as a silloth is played in teams of two, fourballs need to go out. When I arrived it turned out that one of the teams in the group before had cancelled last minute so we would need to play in a six ball and this was the only way we can do it (as suggested by the pro).
I suggested that we push one team back in each group until it catches up again however the pro said that wouldn't work as people will moan about not playing with their friends.
Any thoughts on this? I felt strange playing as a six and think it made the game harder. Everyone was paying more attention to how long we were taking than anything else and waiting on the greens took forever for everyone to putt. On the flip side I played with 4 new people rather than 2 and enjoyed the chat along the way!
