50th Wedding Anniversary Party THIS friday and no cake.

My in-laws party is this friday and after much planning a bombshell hit this afternoon, the lady who is doing the cake has burnt her hand on really hot syrup or some other mix, so bad in fact it might require a skin graft. All sympathy for the lassie and now we have the dubious task of trying to get a cake in the space of a few days.

Get your self into town or the yellow pages first thing, I reckon you will be ok, it's not wedding season etc, cake makers / bakers should have time to sort, 3 days is ample!

The thing is every Season is wedding season or christening, 18th,21st and so on. We have tried a few and have 2 in the pipeline that might be able to do a cake NOT THE ONE WE WANT BUT BEGGARS CANT BE CHOOSERS, only in the last wee while messages have been coming in from cake makers about possibly doing it. I would hate to give them a jam sponge with a candle in it,lol

Women's institute, load of women that make cakes and jam and sew stuff etc.. Make them a few cups of tea and they are putty in your hands my friend. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply's folks, have a nice cake maker who is doing a 2 tier cake at short notice for £125 so all is well and no doubt I will be able to buy golf gear as I have been sooooo good.:thup:
