Since the start of the year i have managed to play 51 rounds of golf so far. In my 40's work full time I do play every saturday medal and play on a sunday and try to get a round in during the week

Is that average ?

Wow, I thought I played a lot - I'd say that's more than average.

I play on average twice a week, same as you though late 30's work full time and I usually play one of the days in a weekend and once during the week.

I would say most get between one or two rounds in a week so average for the year is between 50 and 70 maybe ?

I prob get in about 20 rounds a month

I'm 51, work full time, and do aikido 3 nights a week. By tomorrow evening I'll have played 69 rounds since Jan 1 this year....... I usually play 4 times a week, admittedly, the evening rounds may be limited to nine holes due to time or light, or they may be 12 or 15 holes, but, still out on the course playing as much as I can.

I normally get one full round a week in. I try to get to the course for a second time each week, but that's more practice time or maybe a few holes in the evening.

I'd say currently it's above average. I can average 2-3 rounds a week over the year giving me around 100+ for the season, but with all the wet weather early in the year that average will now be seriously affected, looks like you'll exceed that with 51 in less than 5 months already!

that is good going,
I do practice to but have not included that, probably 2 nights a week just for an hour practice mainly on short game (chipping)
I do enjoy practising so its no hardship, and if you want to improve its a must....

2 qualifying rounds a week for me plus maybe 9 holes in a Saturday with my 8 yr old sun while he's playing junior golf.
And sometimes on long weekends id sqeeze in a 3rd round.
At that I feel like I'm one of the lucky ones having a job and a family and a very understanding better half...

7 matches and one event so far this year - and enjoying it so much more!

Also playing better than I have for a few years (according to partners and opposition!)

At the peak of my interest in the game I was practicing a few times a week, and through the summer/light nights I'd play at least 3 rounds a week. Saturday, Sunday, Wednesday league match, Friday night 4 ball, monthly society outing plus practicing. Probably about 150 rounds a year.

Nowadays, probably 3-4 Saturdays a month plus the occasional trip. Probably 50-ish times a year at most, and practice maybe 3-4 times a season at most.

Currently out injured, and not really missing it. been thinking about new irons to try and rekindle some enthusiasm.

I counted up and I played just 36 times in 2015. That included 4 or 5 golf society trips on top of my subs so it was a little expensive overall to say the least. This season not looking any better.......played about 7 so far. Thing is, I absolutely don't miss it, enjoy it when I do play and do plenty of other stuff instead.

As for OP.....despite my low numbers I think 50 is still way above average.
