5 wood advice please

If you are hitting the 5 wood well and generally in the fairway, I wouldn't rush out and buy a new one.

However, if our winter league is on tomorrow, I'll check the second hand bag as there is loads of cheap fairways from members in it and report back. Pretty sure there are ping, Bridgestone and callaway in there as I was looking for a mate the other day,

Cheers

Well, I have bought a club. I had been eyeing up a callaway FT 5 wood regular shaft, in excellent condition, on ebay for £40. This was £10 over my budget, but sent the seller a begging message, and he agreed to let it go for £30 including postage. Have I got a decent club at a good price ?

Yep...but only if you hit it well.

I've got a Callaway Driver but went for a Ping for my 3 and 5 woods.
Funnily enough I had an old Dunlop 5 wood I picked up in a charity shop and got on with it quite well.
That's what convinced me to try some newer 5 woods.
Tried a few and got on great with the Ping so bought it and a few weeks later bought the Ping 3 wood to go with it.
The 3 is definitely harder to connect well with but when you do it's great, but the 5 is much easier and sometimes not much shorter.

I did the same....had the Callaway fairways woods and found them difficult to get airborne and inconsistent....probably more shaft related. Anyway bought some ebayed G30s and love them. Recognize that that's probably not in you price range but give them all a try first if you can.
