5 club competition

Got a 5-club coming up soon and have to take a putter as one club.

What would you reccomend?

I was thinking 3W, 6I, 9I, 56* and Putter.

That seems pretty reasonable. The only problem I can see is shots of around 180ish where 6 iron isn't enough and 3 wood will be too much but I guess its going to be an issue regardless of what combo you go for.

Will be ok for 180 homer, 6I usually goes 170 or so, so if I close the face slightly, I should be ok?

I'd probably swap the 3w for a 5w if you carry one. Unless you hit the 3w sweet off the deck the 5w will be easier to get distance on the longer holes.
Other than that I'd say you've got a pretty good line up there.

The reason I chose 3W is because I can still get on a couple of par 4's in one with it.

You should'nt go far wrong with your selection you look to have all bases covered.

May be drop the 9i take an 8i and then drop the 6i and take 5i to give you a few more yards?

We have 2 pathetic Par4's that are only 260-280 yards or so.

The 1st is 230 to the front so is well doable, the second is 260 to the front but with a good bounce it sometimes gets on.
