Time for a new TV. Appreciate that when you're in Currys, looking at TV's on demo, you're not seeing a picture you'd see at home, and there's very little 4K being broadcast at present. But thinking about the quality of upscaling you get when put a regular DVD into a Blueray player, is the upscaling you get with a 4K TV worth a punt?

Anyone took the plunge yet?

Father-in-law has just bought a 55" curved 4K TV, and it's incredible. Upscales HD, so everything looks awesome, and comes with a 4K movie pack which has some incredible footage on it, as well as a couple of films. If you've got the cash, and want a top quality TV, get yourself a 4K TV, they're so, so good.

There was a 4k TV advertised on hot deals yesterday 40" panasonic. Most were raving about the price £400 odd quid but some were on about its lack of features. Eh it's a telly surely. When I started reading what this telly could and could not do I was lost. Really don't know what all the fuss was about it went straight ove r my head. Not quick enough for gaming. Eh. As long as it's quick enough for Corrie Missis Tash is ok.

as its broadcast at 1080i I wonder what it upscales it too? theres an old saying about a turd and polishing which is quite apt for signal upscaling
