4Ball Handicap allowance - partner missing

Hi rulespeople...

I have a summer 4ball match at the weekend, but my partner is away. How would we work out the shot situation, will the other 2 take their shots off me? The reason I ask is that I'm sure I read on here a couple of years ago that if the person missing is the low handicap (which he is in this case), you can take the shots off him still and we use that as the mark. Is that the case, or would it be too complicated?

Trying to figure out which would be the best option for me if there is a choice!

Include the handicap of the absent player as the lowest and work out the differences as normal. See Decision 30-3a/3

You all play from the back marker whether present or not. That is the rule.

As rulefan says, it is the rule. But to avoid first tee discussion, if possible get in touch with them to explain the situation and how the handicapping works in that situation. Give them time to check it out for themselves if they wish.
