Received new stock of john letter TR47 range along with a poster guaranteeing 47 extra yards throughout the range. I wondered if anyone on here had done the challenge. I know we had a few mags testing the equipment the other day.

Excluding the putter, and assuming no better dispersion (as the challenge doesn't include that) why would I want to spend 600 quid+ on gaining an average of 3 1/2 yards per club?

Seriously, all this advertising for 3 1/2 yards per club?
1 degree less loft will give me more than that.

Sorry, not interested.....

I agree!

Seems a bit Zzzzzz-ier to me!

Pretty laughable when you think about it like this. Can't imagine those who take the challenge being overly excited about their gains.

Advertise a set of clubs where each one is guaranteed a tighter dispersion, then I'd be interested. There arnt many clubs on the market that won't give me the length I'm looking for!

??? How many players are good enough to be able to determine that they have gained an average 31/2 yards across their set, it's a nothing claim IMO.

Would like to put them up against a set of burner 2.0's or standard rocketbladez to see. If I don't get 47 extra yards, do I get them free?

All these distance claims are starting to get pretty laughable now. With TM's orginial RBZ claims then the Callaway X Hot ads etc it's really starting to show the class of some of the other brands like Titleist and Mizuno that don't have to resort to these tactics and still make quality clubs which sell in bundles.

Was gonna mention PING as well but then remembered about the 'have you been working out?' ad with Lee and Bubba ...

At least they were only claiming 47 yards. Adams were claiming a million http://www.onemillionyards.com/ if so that's one hell of a drive. But no doubt some forumers would claim they have got close to that with the wind behind and a hard downhill fairway....

Everything is the same now, all blown up out if complete proportion to try and sell stuff, exactly as been pointed out, it's a nothing claim as most of them are!! I doubt any amateur club golfer would notice 3.5 yards difference per club! Except the elite amateur none of us will hit it as accurate as that enough times!
