Played in a Stableford last night with my son & one of his school buddies, thought I'd try and help him keep his head in gear and get a result, and more importantly, a Handicap reduction.
Due to GCSE & A levels, he hasnt played that much, and although he can knock it as far as me nowadays, he was still off 27.
Anyway, despite his buddie (who's off 10) having a nightmare, Luke managed to keep his game in order and had 22pts after 9.
My game went to pot as I didnt concentrate whilst trying to help him stay focused, and his mate gave up after 14, which with the gathering gloom at 7.45pm, was a blessing in disguise in helping us get round before dark.
A back 9 of 19pts, which should have been better, saw him come home in 41, which I would be surprised if he didnt win with
More importantly, at least a 2 shot HC reduction . Result.
