First ever post here, and it's a request. :/

Think it's possible to do a mini, one day Ryder Cup style tournament with 4 teams?

I'm trying to arrange a one day tourney with 4 teams (8 or 12 players) but can't quite think of a good team comp. Would anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers

We do a 4 nations comp

Each 4 ball has 1 person from each team in it, stableford scores and get 5,3,2,1 for where you finished in group. Big leaderboard when each group comes in there points are added to the board and running totals updated

Yep..that's similar to my clubs Village Competition.... players represent the towns and villages they live in/nearby. Usually get between 10 and 15 teams....6 players a team.

Bonus point for the team with the player who scores the highest individual Stapleford score, bonus half points for nearest the pin and long drive.

Sit in the bar and watch the scores roll in as the groups finish.... bit like watching the Eurovision voting.

My old club in Wiltshire did a 'home nations' competition on the morning of the Calcutta Cup.
We then got bladdered watching the rugby. Funny how all the other countries [except England] supported Scotland on that day.
Always a great event [Wales and The Rest of the World, covered any shortages on the Welsh side!]

Really like this format and it works well for what I'm trying to do (the 4 teams in question are 4 different companies), with a big swing on the social aspect of it. Having a player from each team/company works really nice. Cheers for the suggestion!
