I managed this feat on our long par-5 14th hole this morning! Couldn't quite make the green in 3 in the cold wet conditions, but left a nice 80 yard pitch shot onto the green. Played this quite well, but slightly under hit it, leaving myself a 25 foot uphill putt to the hole near the back of the green. I charged this 6 feet past trying to make the par, then 4 feet past trying to make the downhill bogey putt, and then missed the one back as well! The rest of my putting was actually quite good for the round. Any similar tales of putting woes recently? :(

I would not call this hitting it well TBH;)

I played golf at the weekend with a guy who putts one handed on 12 foot putts and in.

Rolled it like a dream.

I was afraid to mention the y*ps in case I opened some old scars.

not personally but playing at sweetwoods a couple of years ago on the 8th hole.pp puts his ball on the green in two ,then promptly six putted from about fifteen ft for the first putt and probably twice that for his next ,yeh its a bit of a slopey green.

I wonder what would have prevented you from 4 putting......any ideas?

Probably the 2nd one, which only just missed.

Well there you go, all we need is bigger holes!!

Can't wait till I'm knocking it round in mid 60's, golf will be such an easy game :D

Is that the one that slopes down towards the pond / lake?? If it is that green is a killer!!

Better wedge play :D
I hit my wedge shot to the middle of the green, but didn't realise that the hole was cut close to the back of the green. Perhaps I should buy a range finder, rather than the GPS watch I use at the moment? Nevertheless I would have expected to get down in no more than two putts 9 times out of 10 from the distance I was left.

Nope, never FOUR putted in my life, and 3 putt are things of the past........... Oh for sticking fingers in the air eh!

On my first, and so far only, visit to Burley in the New Forest i 6 putted the opening green. It was like glass!

I'm intending on a return next year to try and exact my revenge!
