4 over gross but i doesnt feel like it should!

Afternoon all,
As the title says.... I shot a gross 75 this morning off 13 (12.5 exact) but I don't feel ecstatic.....

Today was a junior, senior, intermediate, scratch cup competition.... But because Im off 13 I had to play off our yellow tees... Normally I play off the whites I medals.... To be fair to me It was like I was playing chess with the course the whole way round.. plotting my way round the course like a pro.... I was putting exceptional, irons were dead straight and my short game when I mossed a green was immaculate..... Even off our yellows they were in line with the whites on some holes.......

Am I wrong to feel like iv cheated the course?

as ive said to you before, try and see the positive not the negative from what was clearly an excellent round!!!! You really are clutching at straws to find a negative view here when you should be over the moon with how youve played and your score

SSS off whites is 71
SSS off yellow is 69 Fundy.... There are heaps of positives I can take.... Their normally the society tees but some were shoved back 15 or 20 Metres this morning... And some were just a metre or two behind.....

So add 2 back for the diff in tees and you still shot equivalent of 77 off the whites off 13. Go and pour yourself a large drink and celebrate

Its starting to sink in now Pal..... I know the course was a little easier but i still had to get the ball in the hole....... Looking forward to a nice cut now i hope....

You can only play the course set up for you. The old course at Royal Ascot inside the racecourse use to be play very short in the summer even off the whites but particularly off the yellows. I have had some great scores, only a few over par and never once worried about it and just basked in the knowledge that for one game at least I played to my potential

My best ever rounds have been from our Championship tees, im not convinced unless your a short hitter it makes that much difference so celebrate.

Still a good round, but I know what you mean if it's any consolation.

We had a 'fun' comp last year and I had a very good score, but it was played off the ladies tees.
I don't count it as a PB, but as others said you still have to put the ball in the hole so I know I played well.

I was half expecting this to be thread about shooting low but feeling poor about the standard of your game. Sounds like everything clicked for you. As other have said, and you are aware yourself, you are just looking for the negatives. This fickle game will take away more than it gives so be happy and try and remember the aspects of the game that were good and carry those feelings into your next comp of the white tees.
