4 club competition

Next week we are playing a 4 club competition in our club (one must be putter)

I was thinking about 3 hybrid, 6 iron, pw


What would you guys use?

Done ours recently. Took a 18* Hybrid, 6 iron and 9 iron. Think what you need on the par 3's and then the par 4&5's will take care of themselves.

I'd take 2H, 7 Iron, PW if it were me.

Depends on the course. I chose the same 3 clubs, but primarily because I knew that with those the par 5's were going to be in range in three, and all but the longest par 4's in 2. The length of the par 3's also came into the equation. On a shorter course I would ditch the 6 iron and maybe go with 7.

5w (or equivalent hybrid) 7 and pw. You will wonder why you normally lug 14 clubs around. Good luck

There was a 4 club competition as well last year but I was away so missed it. The scoring was actually very good. I remember a number of guys making the point that they'd probably get on fine if they always only had approx 7/8 clubs in the bag. It also seemed to get them thinking more on the shots

Ours is played from the ladies tees so I take driver and SW for the par 4's, and a 7 iron for the par 3's and 5's.

If it were off our normal tees I'd still take driver but change the others to 5 iron and 9 iron.

I'm with you on this Chris, but it may be the fear that I will put in a better score with only 3 or 4 clubs than I do with 14.

We had ours before Christmas but we were limited to 3 clubs. I went with Driver, Hybrid and 8 iron, putting with hybrid.

I got 31 points and didn't win!

I know what you mean, i won it once at my previous club and the stick taken was unbelievable. Carry 14 clubs and your crap but carry 5 and................. !
