So a strange thing happened this morning in our comp. playing in a better ball cup comp, we came to the 9th (par 4) and all teed off. I was nowhere, my partner through the green and the other two left with shortish chips to the green. I went first and put it on the green (middle right) and the other two knocked theirs on, to about 6 and 8 foot. My partner chipped back for a tap in birdie, we weren't in any hurry so I had a go and got mine only to see the other two follow us in for 4 birdies on the one hole. Don't suppose you see that too often...

was this a really short par4 or a long par 3?

yes I saw that and reiterated I saw that. You all must be big hitters with one thru the back and two chipping. How long?

It's not the longest hole in the world. Our course isn't long, but it is tree lined heavily. The 9th is around 280ish, but its over a ravine and leak anything right and its away in the trees, and whilst you will likely find it, you wont have a shot to the green, so take it on at your own peril as they say!

We do have 3 par 3's over 320 yards too, the 1st, 8th and 12th and about 329, 333 and 342 yards so not the easiest holes.. Either way, short hole or not, 4 birdies in a 4 ball is some going, no one had witnessed that before.

this is SOME course, I've never come across one par 3 over 300 yards and you have THREE! but you have a par 4 at 280yds.

Someone is having a giraffe  or you're on the sauce early or slightly confused:whistle:

Yes - unusual. Had similar thing recently on our Par 5 first. A straightforward par 5 if you play it correctly but very easily to drop a shot or two. In our 4 ball we had three birdies and a par. None of us had experienced that for a four ball on that or any other hole.
