4 ball green fee offers cheaper than 1,2 or 3 ball green fee

Does anyone know why there are quite a few 4 ball offers around. Is it due to a theory that the 4 people playing will spend more in the clubhouse after the round than a 1,2 or 3 ball?

Just curious as I was looking to see where might be cheap this weekend and I noticed that the green fee for a 1 2 or 3 ball was £50 per person but the 4 ball green fee was £25 per person and I did not quite understand why there was a 50% reduction.

Rich,I would have thought its to get more people out on the course,still if 3 want to play then 2 can use a 2 4 1 voucher and 1 pay normally and split the diff 3 ways!!

It is definetly to use the tee time as profitably as possible by having a fourball. The club will also be looking at four people using the clubhouse before and after their game to secure additional funds.

I'd imagine having a 4 ball makes the course look busy and also the secondary spend is likely to be better in the clubhouse afterwards.
