hi guys , any sugestions about 3d glasses to view my panasonic tx-l42et50b.
i tried a cheap set of the passive type, but no joy. Seemingly i need " Panasonic full hd 3d glasses with active shutter technology that supports Bluetooth wireless technology " . They seem to be quite expensive , so is it worth the hassle, and do they make much difference ??.
I remember going to the pictures MANY moons ago and being given a pair or cardboard glasses with multi coloured lenses to view the 3d movies.

thanks.

Ah the wonders of 3D tv. Don't waste the money buying the specs. 3D is a gimmick. First time is like a fireworks display. Everyone going "oohhh, ahhhh". Then it starts getting like an indoor firework display. Then it just becomes hassle as everyone watching it needs the glasses. Not forgetting you need a bluray player that supports 3D, or sky and also the correct type of HDMI cable.

I have a Samsung about 2 years old and have used the 3D for about 5 films and a bit of gaming. One of the pairs got broken and I probably need a battery in the other. My brother has a more recent model and is in the same boat.

The best feature is 3d to 2d conversion. Allows me (and everyone else in the room) to watch the 3D blurays in normal beautiful 2D HD.

Would have to agree with this. I got a new Sony TV a couple of years ago although only really went for it as I got the staff discount. I have only used the 3D aspect of it on about a dozen occasions and wouldn't particularly miss it if I end up with a non-3D one next time round!

My view is similar. The current 3D is not pure 3D, more like 2.5D. I am going to wait for glassless 3D to come along before even contemplating it. Further, 4k TV is not far away....

Only 3D I've watched was rugby for about 10mins down pub - and didn't like it at all. I couldn't get my head around what I was watching and I felt a bit queasy.

Have a 3D tv, not watched any "normal" telly in 3D, but watch The Hobbit and although it added depth to the image, it wasn't life changing.

Watching it in the cinema at 40FPS was much better, the clarity is very impressive but that would make your normal programmes look appalling, like HD does to the older shows.

Don't bother with the pricey glasses, 3D is not worth it.

3D is just another feature now, not the big thing it was hyped up as a couple of years back. I prefer active shutter 3D to passive though I don't watch much 3D, don't use the smarthub or the voice and motion nonsense. The trouble is a top of the range TV comes with all the bells and whistles, you can't get top PQ without all the add ons.

Too many faults and issues with TVs these days anyway, It will be the same with 4K and OLED sets no doubt
