Has anyone had any experience of one of these reports?
Not sure if it's called something else, but it's a review from manager, seniors , peers and reportees.
My manager asked for me to have one done. Report has come back in, it's very interesting and definitely highlights areas to work on.

We used to do three way management appraisals in the 1990's.
Very forward thinking for a local authority.
I was always more worried about what the staff thought of me than the directors.

My experience with it is it's a useful tool in obtaining feedback on a persons perceived performance from varied college of contacts but traditional performance appraisals as well as 360-degree feedback should be matched in evaluating overall performance to ensure neither is biased.

Been using it for a few years. I found the feedback predictable. The crawlers crawled more, the militants took advantage of the opportunity to moan and the fence sitters got splinters in their bum. And a few (predictable) intelligent thinkers provided something I can genuinely work on.

That said, staff come and discuss issues several times a week. The appraisal process is only a formalising of what we do all the time.

A Very good method. I teach a lot of leadership and management and find once company's get involved with this type of thing the results are often really good.

I have now assessed the result and asked HR to offer up an independent opinion. I have also asked about the stats calculations. Basically are my self assessment figures used and if not why are my direct managers used.
There are some rather large discrepancies between his marking and the others. Also he has influence on some of the direct reports views ... I.e revoking decisions etc.. and undermining decisions because they don't suit his political ambitions.
Handed the report over to 3 separate people all came back with the same comments. So will be interested to see HRs independent view.

Been in contact with HR about the report they can't explain the questions or the analysis.
Boss turned round and said his assessment was right and he was correct in his judgement despite being 1-2 points negatively from my peers, reports and seniors. His justification was that everyone marks kindly ... just thought what a load of cobblers.
Will have a formal meeting next week, will look at getting an external review/ analysis.
