In this wind even an old man like me could hit it 300 yards with a bit of down hill roll granted,
but do my ears deceive me?
Schools and shops closing early.....because of high winds?

My kids are home from school early, but thats because they've both come down with chicken pox at exactly the same time.. I was supposed to be playing this aft, but im grateful I don't have to....I would have hit it 300 though, not a problem in this wind...

Our 2nd today - 126 yards to the pin downwind. I hit my 50 degree GW.
Bal pitched about 123 yards and spun back another 5 yards - downwind.........

Unfortunately we only had 2 downwind holes all day, most are sidewind holes.....

I have just exited work early so I could drive home the 13 miles in the daylight.I also sent the greenkeepers home a bit early for the same reason.....the roads home up here are lined with big old trees.

Good decision as I swerved a good few bits of debris on the road home that I may well have hit had it been darkness I had driven in.

It is just started to pick up here and is to peek in a couple of hours time.

The Scottish Government have advised that it is too dangerous for anyone weighing under 14 stones to go outside........................Everyone in the country older than 6 years of age have breathed a huge sigh of relief.

Furthermore....

Radio Scotland saying police called to Edinburgh airport, apparently theres a disturbance at the air china ticket desk. 2 pandas are creatin mayhem demanding 2 free flights hame. One bystander who was standing close by said " I heard the young lady behind the desk saying that it was impossible as they were not due to fly home for 10 years, at which point the male panda exploded shouting "10 YEARS!! we won't last 10 farkin minutes in this weather!! ":smirk:

wind turbine was on fire in north ayrshire, they werent quick enough to turn it off, i was driving earlier and thought that tree looks dodgy, 2 hours later tree on road. aye its a bit windy

It is a fairly fearsome wind, went outside for some firewood just then and got blown away, came home early also, bosses idea not mine but glad to not have to face this in the dark.

I do professional tree inspection as part of my work, storms like this always bring in business as people realise the risks of trees falling and shedding limbs, even perfectly healthy trees can fail, not just decayed ones. Every landowner has a duty of care to manage risk to the public prudently......whatever that means! Ambulance chasing no win no fee lawyers will be out in force after this!!

Don't go near the woods in a hurricane!
