A woman goes to her doctor and complains of a terrible cough. He tries every conceivable treatment, antibiotics, asthma sprays, antacids, steroids,and cough bottles. No change and each time she comes back her complaints are more strident.
In desperation he sits her down and tells her to take two lots of tablets and then gives her a syrup to drink. Having consumed the lot she asks what sort of cough treatment he had given her this time. "My dear lady" says the doc, "those were the 3 strongest laxatives known to man".
Shocked, the patient looks at her doctor and shouts "How is that going to help!"
With the hint of a smile the doctor replies quietly....."now cough".
